FUNDING

Consistent with the Academy’s desire to make its education affordable to all, great effort is exercised to maintain a low level of tuition by keeping costs down and raising funds from outside sources.  Tuition and fees fall well short of meeting the needs of the Academy.  A variety of fundraisers made possible through the generous volunteer help of school parents, friends, and staff provide additional funding.  The four primary sources of funding for Holy Angels Academy are as follows:

·        Tuition

·        Fall Raffle

·        Spring Sister Elise Benefit

·        Direct Appeals

Since tuition and fund raising events still fall short of total operating needs, and since there is no parish affiliation to provide support and no government assistance, the Academy relies on contributions from benefactors for a major portion of total funding.  Broadened support is always needed from this source.

The Board, faculty, staff, parents, and children of Holy Angels are eternally grateful for our benefactors.  Each day a special Novena to the Infant of Prague is prayed by the entire student body for the spiritual and temporal needs of our benefactors as well as for the Academy.

The Academy has had a special devotion to the Infant of Prague since its earliest days of existence.  Shortly after founding Holy Angels, Sister Mary Elise was faced with extreme financial difficulties in keeping the school open.  One day, Father Louis Bossung, a parish priest in the older section of Louisville, where the school was first located, gave Sister a statue of the Infant of Prague and assured her that the Infant would take care of the Academy's financial concerns.  The statue remains in the school office and a votive candle burns in its presence.  Over the years, the Infant has provided.  We believe that through the generosity of our fellow man, the Infant will continue to provide.
